Sustainability Education

Enabeling change is all about education. Once we know something is not good for us, we generally move away from it to something better. It's the same with the way we live which is why general education on how to live more sustainably is important. We are keen to help get the message out and intend to continue to add a variety of sustainability education options to our range of services. Not sure we can help? Sustainable Homes Program

We are very happy to be able to offer this very interactive program designed by the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) in conjunction with the CSIRO and the ACF. These workshops are designed specifically to help householders move to a more sustainable lifestyle.

These 2 hour workships are made up of:

General Overview on Climate Change

Energy Sessions - what you can do, the benefits and the gadgets

Water Session - saving and re-using save water

Waste Session - minimising waste

Garden Session - productive gardens

The Sustainable Homes Program is an excellent way to get the message out to a community group in a safe, friendly and interactive way. Sessions are run by a fully qualified Home Sustainability Advisor. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share experiences, and also recieve a folder full of useful information and an action plan so they can plan their own course of action and work through it at their own pace. Community Talks

We are available to deliver community talks on a sustainability topic of your choice. Some of the talks delivered so far include 'Saving money on your Energy Bills', 'Draft sealing a home', 'Saving water' and 'What to look for in a home'. Remember, we can tailor a session to your exact needs so your group gets the most out of it. If you are interested in organising one of our fully qualified Home Sustainability Advisors to come and talk to your group just give us a call.

School Talks

Education through kids is a key way to engage not only the children, but also their families! Should your school be looking for someone to help get the message out as part of your cirriculum or sustainability initiatives, we would be happy to help. We aim to work closely with schools when the opportunity arises and our Sustainability Advisors all have current Police and Working with Children Checks.
