In the USA, Green Properties are obtaining 10% higher market prices and selling 25% faster. Green Properties in Europe are obtaining a 7.5% higher market price than their comparable non-green counterparts, they are renting 3.5% faster and obtaining 3% higher rental yields. Mandatory Disclosure is coming

Originally scheduled for May 2011, Mandatory Disclosure of energy, water and green house gas performance of homes at the point of sale or lease, has now been deferred to 2012. Access to environmental performance information will ultimately allow buyers and renters to compare the performance of different properties prior to purchase or lease. It will result in additional focus on the cost efficient 'green' features.
