General Criteria for The Green Property List

We are looking for properties that have at least 3 sustainable features, 2 of which should be energy related and at least 1 water related. These would generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

Energy features Water features Garden features
Low energy lighting Water efficient showers Edible plants (fruit trees)
Insulation Water efficient tapware Vegetable patch
Draft seals throughout Rain water tank Drought tolerant plants
Solar panels Grey water system Mulch on garden beds
Gas hot water or heating Dual flush toilets Worm farm/compost heap
5*+ appliances Solar heated pool
Passive heating/cooling Solar garden lighting

For every home that meets the minimum standard an assessment will be performed and an EcoView Report prepared. It will cover:

  • General Overview (including building orientation and design)
  • Heating and Cooling
  • Energy
  • Water
  • Gardens
  • Lifestyle (what's in walking or cycling distance).
  • Once the EcoView Report has been completed, it will be passed back to the owner or agent for information prior to the property being put online in the Green Property List. If your home has been recently built (from 2004 onwards) we will also include the relevant States energy/water rating for additional information. The more 'green' features your home has the better the grading and the more appealing it will be to perspective buyers/renters.

Homes that do not currently meet the minimum standard sadly can not be listed on the Green Property List. However with a little effort your home could possibly be upgraded so see our Services information or call us to discuss further, we'll be happy to help.

    New Developments

Every new development listed on this site must meet current environmental standards as set by the relevant state and be at least 5* energy rated. The 'green' features will be documented by our Sustainability Assessors on an EcoView Report developed specifically for developments. The report covers:

  • General Overview (includes building orientation and design)
  • Heating and Cooling
  • Energy
  • Water
  • Gardens
  • Lifestyle (what's in walking or cycling distance).
  • New developments have a great opportunity to maximise sustainable features and reduce their buildings environmental footprint. The more 'green' features your development has the better the EcoView and the more appealing it will be to perspective buyers/renters.
