We offer 3 levels of energy assessment at your property, all are conducted by a qualified assessor:

Quick Fix Energy Review

  • approx 1 hour on site,
  • review of your recent energy bills (ideally 12 months worth),
  • review of your home appliances and how often they are used
  • identify key problem areas,
  • find out what quick wins you can achieve,
  • discuss options to reduce your energy usage and improve comfort.

After leaving your home, our assessor will:

  • email you a summary report, with the findings and recommendations, and a priority list of actions,
  • be available to answer any further queries by phone or email.

Fee: $270 inc. GST

Detailed Energy Audit

For those wanting to know more detail and with more time to invest.  Find out what appliances are using how much power, identify what can be done and what you could save by implementing the recommendations  (a Level 2 Energy Audit).

Our qualified assessor would visit the property and will:

  • 2 hours on site,
  • need to see a copy of the most recent energy bills (12 months worth),
  • ask for access to interval metering data (if available) for analysis,
  • review your home, the appliances and how often they’re used,
  • take measurements of several key appliances (eg: put a power meter on the refrigerator),
  • ask about any problem areas,
  • discuss options to reduce your energy usage and improve comfort,
  • check heating and cooling systems, look for sources of drafts and take lots of notes.

After leaving you to get on with your day, our assessor will then:

  • consolidate and analyse the data collected,
  • identify and quantify the main sources of energy usage in the home,
  • determine appropriate recommendations,
  • create a prioritized list of actions for you to take forward in your own time,
  • create a cost benefit analysis showing payback periods,
  • create and email you the completed report,
  • be available to answer any further questions by phone or email.

‘Full Monty’ Home Sustainability Assessment

For those wanting to know it all!  This assessment includes a Level 2 Energy and Water Audit, and a Level 1 Waste and Garden Assessment and Lifestyle Review.   This is for those with time to invest in finding out how they can really make a difference, not just to those utility bills, but also for the environment.  This includes all the above and more.

Our qualified assessor would visit the property and will:

  • be on-site for approx 4 hours,
  • need to see a copy of the most recent energy and water bills (12 months worth),
  • ask for access to interval energy metering data (if available) for analysis,
  • review your home, the appliances and how often they’re used,
  • take measurements of several key appliances (eg: put a power meter on the refrigerator),
  • check the water usage of taps, washing machines etc.,
  • ask about any problem areas,
  • discuss options to reduce your energy and water usage and improve comfort,
  • check out your rubbish bins,
  • look at your gardens, check the soil and discuss watering,
  • ask you about your lifestyle choices such as cleaning products, travel methods, shopping,
  • discuss options, alternatives, and ask about your preferences

After leaving you to get on with your day, our assessor will then:

  • consolidate and analyse the data collected,
  • identify and quantify the main sources of energy and water usage in the home,
  • identify and quantify the types of waste created in the home,
  • review gardening and lifestyle options for you and your family,
  • determine appropriate recommendations for all areas,
  • create a prioritized list of actions for you to take forward in your own time,
  • create a cost benefit analysis showing payback periods of any capital purchases recommended,
  • email you the completed report,
  • be available to answer any further questions by phone or email.

Fee: from $995  inc. GST, based on standard 3 bedroom home (cost may be higher for large properties).
